Robert Croft has logged over 40,000 miles of offshore sailing. As the skipper of his yacht Coppelia he won the Auckland to Fiji race in 1999, as well as competing in the 1999 Two Man Round the North Island race. Since this time, he has skippered yachts to victories in numerous domestic coastal races, including 4 divisional wins in New Zealand’s biggest yacht race, the annual Coastal Classic from Auckland to Bay of Islands.
Rob brings a wealth of practical skills to the team as a professional rigger and super yacht crew. Single handed he has rebuilt Coppelia from the keel to the mast head between 1999-2008
Light winds are Sally's forte, however, trimming the sails and patiently steering the boat in very light winds is just one of the skills that she brings to the campaign. A weather modeller by profession, Sally is the primary navigator, a job focussed on placing the boat in the right place at the right time to gain advantage over competing teams.
Sally Garrett comes from a small boat sailing background, having raced on the World Match Racing circuit and in the Olympic 470 class.
In 2009, Sally was given the opportunity by Volvo Ocean veteran Nick White to race his boat in the B and G Simrad Tripple series, her crew was Rob Croft, they won the series and have sailed together ever since.
